Group Nutrition
Sometimes it is good to hear from other people who are working on the same things that you are. Group nutrition brings people with similar health concerns together to collaborate and help each other overcome challenges and reach health goals. Led by experienced registered dietitians, BNWS offers:
Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP): This program follows a CDC-approved curriculum for helping people lose weight and prevent diabetes. This program is proven to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. Research shows that modest behavior changes, such as making better food choices and increasing physical activity, reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58 percent in people at high risk for developing this disease.
Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSME): DSMES gives clients the knowledge and skills necessary to improve blood glucose control, reduce the onset and/or advancement of diabetes related complications, and improve overall mental and physical health (Diabetes Care, 2015 ADA). Our DSMES program is led by registered dietitians and registered nurse diabetes educators who are experts in the management and treatment of diabetes.
