BNWS Diabetes Prevention Program

Working together to prevent Type 2 Diabetes

What is the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP)?

Congress authorized CDC to establish the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) – a public-private partnership working to build a nationwide delivery system for a lifestyle change program proven to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes in adults with prediabetes.

Join our CDC-approved Lifestyle Change Program

If your blood test confirms you have prediabetes, join our CDC-recognized National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) lifestyle change program to learn how to make lasting lifestyle changes to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes:

  • Work with a trained lifestyle coach, who is either a registered dietitian or a registered nurse.

  • Discover how to eat healthy and add more physical activity into your day.

  • Find out how to manage stress, stay motivated, and solve problems that can slow your progress.

  • Receive group support over the course of a year.

Our next program begins virtually July 2020

What Our Clients Are Saying…

When I was diagnosed with diabetes, I was afraid of eating and could not get a handle on my blood sugars. The BNWS dietitian helped me understand my diabetes and how to pair foods that would help me regulate my blood sugar numbers. I am no longer scared – and my numbers are much-improved.

What Our Clients Are Saying…

What I liked best about my consult with your dietitian was that she listened and helped me achieve my goals. She was non-judgmental about my size and put me at ease.
